Sample Problem: Algebra – Order of Operations

Here’s one for all of you starting Algebra this year!

See how Brightstorm teacher Alissa solves a tricky Algebra problem that requires understanding of Order of Operations.

The Order of Operations, sometimes called PEMDAS, is how we know what operation to do first so that we always get the right answer. When adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing numbers, if we didn’t use the order of operations we would get different answers for the same equation.
